What other profession blends both science and art as beautifully as winemaking?
This page is dedicated to the extraordinary people who work with both heaven and earth to create the wines in our offering. Please allow us to introduce those who can who can turn sunshine into wine...

A fine winemaker and an even finer man. Barry has been the winemaker for Hopper Creek Winery in Yountville since 2005. He is a Bay Area native, born in San Francisco and raised in Petaluma. Throughout his career he has earned many awards for his wines, particularly those crafted from Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. He works with small lot fermentations using whole cluster pressing for white grapes and hand punchdowns for all red varietals. These gentle methods help preserve fruitiness and maintain the balanced tannins of his wines.
David Platt

'04 Canzona Vineyards (Bordeaux-style) Cabernet Sauvignon
David is a second generation winemaker who has a great passion for Bordeaux varieties. "My hope is to express my lifelong study of music and harmony in the making of wine, studying the art of winemaking, which, like the art of music, can never be perfected, but can produce beauty and joy." David's wine philosophy: "I want to make a wine that is balanced and elegant, yet approachable. I don't believe a wine has to be aggressive to be impressive. In music, balance of tones and colors creates harmony; and so it should be with wine." In this 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon, the intricate flavor profiles of a few selected, carefully tended vineyards, are nurtured from grape to wine and blended with that same sense of harmony.
